The yearly Tuks competition takes place 25 April 2009 at theTuks Sport Centre. With the very high standard set at the Top Ten competition and the first trials, this promises to be an exiting event.
For those who entered this competition, the programme is avalable HERE
Lize Mostert TRA
Senior gymnast was invited to attend the Ambassadors Camp arranged by the SAGF
at the University of Pretoria. Lize a role-model in trampoline enjoyed
this opportunity and gave us this positive feedback. From TRA Programme
Management a big thanks to organizers for this successful event.
The first competition of the year is upon us - taking place at Gesina on 21 March 2009. The competition invitation document is available HERE and the detailed program HERE (updated 19 March 2009).
Every four years the FIG code of Points are revised and all FIG Judges (Brevet and International) have to do all the International judging exams again and requalify. Local judges are also expected to redo exams and requalify.
Good news for
all involved in Trampolining in South Africa is the release of formal Black Top
Trampoline code in line with the trampoline code. In the past gymnasts and instructors had to
rely on a set of guidelines and routines.
The newly
released code include age group detail, routine detail as well as rules and regulations. Deductions and difficulty calculations are
now changed to align with the FIG rules for trampoline.
This code
should aid in better teaching and practice as well as uniform judging that will
invariably lead to higher standards and more participation.
Previously the trial always took place the day prior to the TOP TEN However, due to certain circumstances the trial (14 March) had to be re-scheduled this year to take place on the same day as the TOP TEN.
It would be unfair to our top competitors to expect of them to, apart from warm-up time, do two trampoline routines and 4 double-mini routines during the trial and a little bit later to do the same again during the TOP TEN Competition. They would be physically and emotionally exhausted and not be able to do well in the TOP TEN competition, therefore, the trial and the TOP TEN will be combined and the TOP TEN will serve as the first trial for those competitors who entered for the trial.
